3D and Compositing Using Blue Screen

Journal Entry: Thu Aug 20, 2009, 5:37 PM
PERFORMING IN A STAGE WHERE THERE IS NO AUDIENCE EXCEPT THE CAMERA AND THE CREWS VIA THE BLUE SCREEN BEHIND

Hello, everyone.

I have something to update about myself so far. I've enjoyed to learn a bit more about the blue screen and the compositing with 3D objects. There is so much to learn yet it's a long road.

I designed my new concept that I brought from my other old work called "Energy" and it was fun. I WILL not upload my storyboard nor the floorplan on DeviantArt because one, it's my own work and I don't want any plagiarism from total strangers who have no talent of actual arts. Sometimes the art thevies call themselves art because they are good at stealing yet they are not good at drawing on paper and pencil. Two, I have a feeling since I had done few researches around in DeviantArt and discovered that DeviantArt is not just only a social network for artists and variety of people but also themselves, I mean the founders of DeviantArt, themselves don't care on how much artists' works have been plagiarism because they didn't do anything about it much. Not good looking job, eh?

I will talk about the DeviantArt Founders later on.

First of all, today I began my project to work from storyboard to blue screen and I performed in a small role. Only two boys from my class have helped me establishing the lights and camera, the teacher was only checking on us to see if we are doing the right thing. It was fun performing however it is annoying to have these such high powered lightings because they have so much heat and sometimes blinded my eyes. Crazy? You bet!

But this is how the Hollywood and the rest of others movies have been made are always with high powered lightings and advanced cameras just to have the best quality of star actors/actresses. LUCKY I'M NOT THE FAMOUS HOLLYWOOD ACTRESS!!! I'll tell you why... Camera stalkers! I hated these magazines have made so much gossips like I don't give shit about them because the stars love being centred of the attention! Poof!

After I've made series of takes, I'm to edit the videos into Final Cut Pro and then edit them so I can figure out the timing between 3D animating and the real world film. Then with everything ready, I can start working on 3D animating because this part of job is huge and it can take a while to animate and make sure I have the right position to work with the real world. I have to keep reminding myself when I make the 3D rendering, I must be so sure to have the animation via alpha channel. Hell, so much details to keep up! Eh?

For other subject, still 3D animation, I've made impression of my nearly finished work. The female body with no head and hands, it was amazing because I loved doing that and it's full nude! Wow, what boobs and bum! Lol, I reckon any 3D animators could've liked to model naked 3D humans.

;)

See my uploaded pictures.

Now onto my opinions about the DeviantArt Founders. Not that I'm against them but it's just the way they've said something is not right. One of the Founders have made an announcement on her blog about the theft stealing other people's work. She has mentioned that "art theft" is not a term. It is called "artwork infridgement" (correct me if the spelling is wrong, please) and it is an politic term. Even her team has put up a new tool to save people's work but not stealing them like the one when you drag your image, a banner sliding appears from the top and shows all your favourite stuff. It seems they got the wrong message from many artists.

What the artists have actually meant is that the art theft are actually stolen many works by copying them like Apple+shift+4 (Mac) or Print screen (PC) and manipulate them in whatever program to make them look almost accurate. It's crazy. A lot of art thefts have stolen one of the DeviantArt Members who is very popular all of his most work because they are large image and easy to steal. It is the best way to make them smaller with watermarks.

The reason of using smaller works is because whenever the art theft presents to another person thinking the art theft have the art skills but finds out the image is smaller and cannot be expanded, the pixels become damaged badly. That's probably one of the options to secure your work from art theives.

Which is why I have a feeling I may not trust these DeviantArt Founders if I ever present my best work shown on here. Perhaps you could do the same thing. It is your choice to show your work to the world or not but consider some people not to be trusted.

=)

That's all I have to say. And have a nice day!
